Salvation is not about being part of a particular religion or denomination. It is about the finished work of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins, and rose again so that we might have eternal life. If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are not saved. But the great thing about salvation is that you don't have to be in a church to get saved. You can give your life to Jesus right now. It's this simple:
- Recognize that God loves you and desires that you be saved John 3:16, 17: For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
- Acknowledge that you are a sinner that needs to be saved Romans 3:23: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
- Recognize that sin has a penalty - but Christ has paid it Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior Romans 10:9-10: If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, resulting in salvation.
- Ask God to forgive your sins 1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Now that you have information, take action! Pray a simple prayer like this one: Lord, I realize that I am a sinner and I need to be saved. I confess that I have sinned and I ask you to forgive me and make me clean. Right now I ask Jesus to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Thank you for accepting and saving me. Thank you for giving me eternal life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Now, you are saved! One of the best things to do in order for your salvation to feel real is tell somebody. If you don't know anyone that you can tell, use the form on our "contact us" page to share the news with this ministry. Heaven is rejoicing, and so are we!
It is also very important that you make a break with sin. You should turn away from everything you know is displeasing to God.
You should also find a church where you can grow in your new-found faith. Just make sure that the church believes that Jesus Christ is Lord and that their teachings are based on the Holy Bible. Eternal Word Fellowship welcomes you to contact us for help.
